About Myself

I've loved drawing since I was a child, and my ability to perceive a wide range of colors has become a strength in my video production work.
At the same time, I have characteristics of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and I've long found it difficult to connect with many people, which sometimes led me to close myself off emotionally.
Notch gave me, someone facing these challenges, a tremendous sense of possibility as a creator. Being able to achieve photorealistic visuals in real time simply by connecting nodes, without needing to write complex programs, was a truly groundbreaking experience for me. Through Notch, I discovered the joy of creative expression, and through activities like sharing tutorials on Patreon, I found opportunities for many people, both in Japan and abroad, to learn about my work.

About My Condition and Surgery

Over many years, the physical strain on my body gradually led to pain in my neck. Starting in January this year, I began experiencing intense pain shooting from my left arm to my fingertips—like an electric shock combined with the sensation of scalding water. At the same time, I developed severe numbness, to the point of losing sensation entirely.
Medical examinations revealed the diagnosis: cervical myelopathy. My spinal cord was being compressed by ossified ligaments and deformed bone. I underwent surgery at a university hospital, in which an incision was made in the front of my neck to simultaneously perform bone grafting, spinal fusion, laminectomy, and laminoplasty (C5-C7).
The surgery was a success, and I have since been discharged and am continuing rehabilitation. While it will still take time for the metal implants in my neck to fully fuse with the bone, my recovery is progressing well, and I have already been able to resume my creative work.

About the Work-Related Issue and My Response

Alongside this decline in my health, I was also dealing with a serious issue related to my past work. Over the past four years, despite completing deliverables across numerous projects, I have been unable to collect much of the compensation owed to me.
I became aware of the full extent of this situation at "Notch Training Tokyo," held in November last year. Learning about standard contract practices, license management, and fair compensation rates revealed not only significant unpaid fees, but also serious copyright infringement—my work had been altered and uploaded without permission, screened at events without authorization, and repurposed for other projects.
To protect my rightful interests, I am working with a lawyer to prepare evidence and review documentation. For now, my priority remains rehabilitation, and I am preparing for a full return to my creative work as a professional.

Looking Ahead

In connection with this situation, I have settled all of my previous business relationships. As a result, I currently have no ongoing projects. However, I see this as an opportunity to reflect on the past and take a new step forward.
I am currently focused on recovering my health while resuming personal projects, continuing to study Notch and improve my skills.
In Japan, the strong sense of individuality and particular sensibilities that come with my Autism Spectrum Disorder have largely gone unaccepted, and I have faced rejection because of them. But through Notch, I have been able to connect with people somewhere in the world who see and appreciate my work—and that has become a source of hope I hold dear.
With this in my heart, I hope for the day I can be of service to you, and I will continue to pursue my craft and take on new challenges with sincerity.

As a New Step Forward

My knowledge of Notch's newer features is still limited, but I'm learning and taking on new challenges one step at a time. Finally, I'd like to share two experimental videos I recently created.

The screws implanted in my neck bone during surgery. Strangely, they gave rise to a sense of feeling "stronger." I expressed that feeling through a video where footage of myself, captured via webcam, is masked using a Procedural Mesh—revealing a version of myself filled with screws underneath.
AI Hand Tracker

Using AI Hand Tracker, I created a video of blue butterflies gathering in the palm of my hand. Blue butterflies are said to bring happiness, and I've woven my hopes for what lies ahead into this piece.
