「幻の宮」と呼ばれ、当時の王朝文化の息吹を色濃く残す国史跡斎宮跡。かつて天皇に代わって伊勢神宮に仕えた皇女・斎王が暮らした地にあるのが、平安時代の建物を原寸大で復元した「さいくう平安の杜」です。その正殿・東脇殿・西脇殿の建築群に、斎王群行絵巻や源氏物語絵巻など平安時代の伝統美や王朝のみやびな世界観をモチーフにした映像を投影しました。

The National Historic Site of Saiku, known as the "Phantom Palace," still carries the vivid spirit of the ancient imperial court culture. This is the land where the Saiō, an imperial princess who served at Ise Grand Shrine in place of the Emperor, once lived. Here stands "Saiku Heian no Mori," a full-scale reconstruction of Heian-period buildings. Images inspired by Heian-era traditional beauty and the elegant world of the imperial court—including the Saiō Gunkō Emaki (Scroll of the Saiō's Procession) and the Genji Monogatari Emaki (Tale of Genji Scroll)—were projected onto its Main Hall, East Wing, and West Wing.
