現存国宝5天守の一つであり、五重六階の天守の中で最古の歴史を持つ松本城天守。松本城史上初となるプロジェクションマッピングを時期ごとに異なる3つのテーマで天守と石垣に投影しました。
＜第一期＞ 城主・石川数正ゆかりの屏風絵が躍動する「時代を駆ける歴史絵巻」
＜第二期＞ 雪の結晶や氷、星のきらめきをモチーフとした「雪や氷、星のきらめき」
＜第三期＞ 北アルプスに咲き誇る百花繚乱の花々を描いた「春の訪れ、花鳥風月」

好評につき会期延長となった2月16日〜18日には、第一期〜第三期の演出を一挙に投影。「光と氷の城下町フェスティバル 松本市イルミネーション2023-2024」内のプログラムとして開催されました。

Matsumoto Castle Keep is one of Japan's five surviving National Treasure castle keeps, and the oldest among the five-story, six-floor keeps still standing. For the first time in the castle's history, projection mapping was displayed on the keep and stone walls, featuring three different themes across the event's three periods.
Period 1: "A Historical Scroll Racing Through Time," featuring a dynamic folding screen painting connected to the castle lord Ishikawa Kazumasa
Period 2: "Snow, Ice, and Twinkling Stars," inspired by snowflakes, ice, and glittering stars
Period 3: "The Arrival of Spring, Flowers and Birds," depicting the countless flowers blooming in the Northern Alps

Due to popular demand, the event was extended, and from February 16–18, the visuals from all three periods were projected together. The event was held as part of the "Light and Ice Castle Town Festival: Matsumoto City Illumination 2023-2024" program.
