「TOKYO Night & Light」にて上映されている「水の都 江戸・外濠 〜City of Water: Edo Outer Moat〜」は、東京都が進める外濠浄化プロジェクトの一環として制作された作品です。「最大の建築物へのプロジェクションマッピングの展示 (常設)」としてギネス世界記録™に認定されている新宿の都庁第一本庁舎に、咲き誇る日本の四季の花々を表現した映像を投影しました。

"City of Water: Edo Outer Moat," screened as part of "TOKYO Night & Light," is a work created as part of Tokyo's Outer Moat Purification Project. Projected onto the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building No. 1 in Shinjuku—recognized by GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ as the "Largest architectural projection-mapped display (permanent)"—the piece features imagery of Japan's flowers blooming through the four seasons.

本イベントは、東京都の「外濠の水辺再生事業」に対する理解促進を目指した実証実験として開催されました。国指定史跡である江戸城外堀跡・牛込濠の法面約100mに、浮世絵をモチーフにした花々の映像を投影しました。
なお、江戸城外濠は、1604年から1636年にわたる天下普請により構築され、現在は飯田橋駅から四ツ谷駅を経て赤坂見附に至る西側地域に堀割が残る、昭和31年に国史跡に指定された史跡です。

This event was held as a demonstration project aimed at promoting understanding of Tokyo's "Outer Moat Waterfront Regeneration Project." Images of flowers inspired by ukiyo-e were projected onto a roughly 100m stretch of the Ushigome Moat embankment, part of the nationally designated historic site of the Edo Castle Outer Moat.
The Edo Castle Outer Moat was constructed between 1604 and 1636. Today, a stretch of the moat remains on the western side, running from Iidabashi Station through Yotsuya Station to Akasaka-mitsuke, and it was designated a National Historic Site in 1956.
