2025年11月1日より「TOKYO Night & Light」のプログラムにて上映されている「水の都 江戸・外濠 〜City of Water: Edo Outer Moat〜」は、東京都が進める外濠浄化プロジェクトの一環として制作された作品です。「最大の建築物へのプロジェクションマッピングの展示（常設）」としてギネス世界記録™に認定されている、新宿のランドマーク・都庁第一本庁舎に、水の都・江戸の記憶と未来の都市像が重なり合う様子や、浮世絵に描かれた滝や水辺の風景、四季の花々が咲き誇る世界を表現しています。
なお、タイトルにもなっている江戸城外濠は、1604年から1636年にわたる天下普請により構築され、現在は飯田橋駅から四ツ谷駅を経て赤坂見附に至る西側地域に堀割が残る、昭和31年に国史跡に指定された史跡です。

"City of Water: Edo Outer Moat," screened as part of the "TOKYO Night & Light" program since November 1, 2025, is a work created as part of Tokyo's Outer Moat Purification Project. Projected onto the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building No. 1 in Shinjuku—a Tokyo landmark recognized by GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ as the "Largest architectural projection-mapped display (permanent)"—the piece portrays the memory of Edo, the historic "City of Water," merging with a vision of the city's future, alongside waterfalls and waterside scenery depicted in ukiyo-e and a fantastical world of flowers blooming through the four seasons.
The Edo Castle Outer Moat, which also gives the work its title, was constructed between 1604 and 1636. Today, a stretch of the moat remains on the western side, running from Iidabashi Station through Yotsuya Station to Akasaka-mitsuke, and it was designated a National Historic Site in 1956.
